Opulent Estate Inspired by Hitchcock’s “North by Northwest”: Leblanc-Cox Residence
Showcasing opulence and architectural diversity, Leblanc-Cox Residence was envisioned by Texas-based architect Charles Todd Helton and is located in Austin, USA. According to the official project description, the design was “inspired by the home featured in the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock thriller, North by Northwest. It is a modern design with an overall “Frank Lloyd Wright” feel. Open spaces with high ceilings and large windows characterize the house, which backs up to the Hogg Bird Sanctuary and Bayou Bend“. The side of the residence facing the street is defined by compact walls of stone and wood, while the opposite facade was adorned with generous windows, opening up the rooms towards the two level swimming pool with three waterfalls. A large open plan social area sets the tone for an elegant haven, where opulence feels at home. How would you comment on the use of space and materials in the photos below? Each of the three bedrooms is an ultra private oasis with generous sea views, king-sized beds and en-suite bathrooms, two with double jacuzzi bathtubs. Romantic movie nights can be enjoyed in the master suite, which features a large, retractable LCD projector screen“. Other features of the villa include a generous swimming pool with sea vistas, a spa, a fitness center, yoga and Pilates sessions. The project is characterized by a high level of openness, even on the side facing the street, where illuminated stairs invite visitors inside. However, the spectacular facade opposite to the street has a lot more to offer. From an impressive swimming pool to a barbecue area and outdoor bar, this is just one of the areas of the project where the inhabitants can enjoy the much talked about comfort and opulence of a Hollywood home. Once inside, the double-height walls and highly modern interiors with tasteful arrangements are likely to make a strong impression also. The Doheny Mansion in Los Angeles is currently available for sale for $ 10,900,000. For this amount, you get five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a neighborhood with famous residents. Employing a vocabulary of enduring materials of French limestone, roughcast stucco, and teak windows, the house underscores the client’s desire to create a generational home.
