Interior Design Focused on Quality: Mont East Flat in Hong Kong

Just have a look at the original and elegant features this loft puts on display! Designed by Pal Pang of studio Another Design International, this contemporary apartment entitled Mount East Flat and located in Hong Kong has what it takes when it comes to providing inspiration. An atmosphere that emanates complete freedom, aesthetics and unique design and quality were the main elements that this project was built on. Just by using a clever mix of wood, glass and appealing textures, the designers managed to give this home a luxurious look, without major costs. The loft accommodates a large living room, with dining area and partially separated kitchen, a guest room, a master bedroom and a study room. All the interiors, except for the kitchen and bathrooms, are defined by wood accents and give away the artistic personality of the designer.

Sony Ericsson’s elusive Nozomi shows up in Hong Kong, still glowing nicely
It was only about a month ago when we first came across some clear shots of Sony Ericsson’s upcoming Nozomi (aka LT26i), and now it looks like someone in Hong Kong has also gotten hold of this pretty Android phone. HKEPC’s forum leakster, who claims to have received this image from a friend, doesn’t actually reveal much here (not even a codename), but he or she does confirm that a dual-core chip and a 720p LCD are packed within — this matches what we heard from the previous leak. Furthermore, we’re told that a Hong Kong carrier is already testing this device, so don’t be surprised if it pops up in the market within the next month or two.

Archos’ Arnova 7 G2 and 10 G2 tablets launch in Hong Kong, taste like Gingerbread
It looks like Archos’ summer of the sequels is just heating up. Less than a week ago, we spied the outfit’s 8-incher at the FCC, and now our brethren at Engadget Chinese are offering up a hands-on with two more second-gen Arnovas: the Arnova 7 G2 and 10 G2. These made-over slates best their predecessors with Gingerbread and capacitive touchscreens. The original 7-inch tablet ran Froyo while its big brother came with Eclair; both sported resistive displays. The pair will also see a spec bump in the processor department, with the inclusion of a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 — likely the same processor found in their 8-inch sibling. While we do have Hong Kong pricing — HK$1,680 (or $215 US) and HK$1,980 (about $250 US) — we’ve yet to land a release date. So, for now, we’ll just stick with “coming soon to a retailer near you?” If the wait is too much to bear, hop on past the break for some hands-on love from our Chinese counterparts.

Philips sells HDTV business to Hong Kong-based TPV Technology, will sate itself with royalty payments
Philips has been making teevees for over 80 years, but today its new CEO has announced that this storied history is coming to an end. Unable to generate a profit from its HDTV division — it lost the company €87 million in the first quarter — Philips will soon sell the majority stake in it to Hong Kong manufacturer TPV Technology, while retaining a 30 percent ownership share and agreeing guaranteed royalty payments of €50 million per year from 2013 onwards. It’s not a bad deal for the Dutch consumer electronics maker, whose bottom line for the first quarter was €137 million in the black, but would have been double that had the new arrangement been in place. All 4,000 Philips employees working under the HDTV umbrella will be transferred over to TPV, though the company says it doesn’t want the “market to misread that [it] intend to lay-off a lot of employees.” Which is not to say that it won’t. A video interview with Philips’ chief Frans van Houten discussing the change of direction can be found after the break.

Fresh Apartment with Vivid Colors in Hong Kong :The RAINBOW House

We recently received a welcoming and colorful home design by Max Lam, the Chief Designer of Moderne . According to the press release they sent us, the Rainbow House is a “830 sqf flat at The Cairnhill in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong. The entire concept is inspired by a RAINBOW. The main colours of this home are green, yellow and red. The rainbow goes from the living room to the dining room, from walls to ceilings, thoroughly decorates 11 feet high ceiling, and then goes over the hidden room door. The unique stainless steel lamps together with the colourful settings, contribute to a sharp and trendy environment. Max combined the two rooms into one, in order to enlarge the space. A green wall and an orange wall make a strong contrast, which lead to a conceptual differentiation between bedroom and study room. The built-in white shelves, desks and high cabinet in the study room are simple and functional. All the 60’s and 70’s contemporary modern classical furniture came from designer’s invaluable collection from many European countries, including designer pieces by Joe Colombo, Rodolfo Bonetto, Olaf Von Bohr, Marc Newson, Anna Castelli Ferrieri, Giotto Stoppino, Erik Magnussen, etc. All these classics make an inspiring contribution to the playful and colourful Rainbow House.” Freshome readers, would you live in an apartment with this much color?
