Wall Sticker Collection Inspired by The Works of Toulouse-Lautrec: Circus

Have a look at this intriguing wall sticker collection envisioned by PIXERS and inspired by an unusual theme: “Why we decided to get down to the circus? Above all, we were captivated by its workers – so unusual, colorful and absolutely mesmerizing people. We were inspired also by the works of Henri Toulouse-Lautrec who masterly showed the daily life of the dancers of the XIX-th century Paris.

We decided to follow in his footsteps and take a look at the joys and sorrows of the circus life. We wanted to see how circus artists behave both in headlights and in private life. We mixed surrealism up with everyday life and served it with impressionist sauce. Our collection will surely appeal to people who are not afraid to break conventions, also those decorative ones, and people who are looking for wall murals and stickers that will reflect their rebellious character and personality.” Find the wall stickers as creative and mesmerizing as we do? Extensive Collection of Art and Books Adorning the F5 Apartment in Stuttgart

If you ever wondered how art and literature can contribute to the design of a modern apartment, here is a live example. Apartment F5 was especially envisioned by Fleitz Group Identity Architects to accommodate the extensive art collection and hundreds of books belonging to an older couple living in Stuttgart, Germany. The result is elegant and visually intriguing- a youthful space, enhanced by color and creativity.

The main hallway is adorned with floor-to-ceiling bookcases divided by flush-mounted doors, which give away the feel of walking through a museum gallery or genuine library. According to the architects’ description, “sliding doors crafted from dark wood conceal the entrances to the living and dining area. In the other rooms the display of art works alternates between strictly defined areas, such as on the sliding walls in the study or above the seating corner in the living area, and a playfully free formation”. Shades of beige and green ensure a sober tone, an elegant base for all the “knowledge” this home possesses.

Exploring the Boundaries of Perspective: 3D Artwork Collection for Modern Homes

Spotted in Today and Tomorrow magazine, the work of Christopher Derek Bruno is something you don’t bump into everyday. His paintings show a different representation of miscellaneous shapes and depending on the angle you are watching them from, come up together as unitary works of art and complex compositions. Basically, it’s all about perspectives and angles. In case you are looking to add some (interesting and distinguished) artistic elements to your contemporary home, Christopher Derek Bruno’s work might be an interesting choice.

The paint is fixed on carefully arranged wood tiles. The artist played with basic shapes, such as rectangles and circles and added strong tones of colour. The artwork collection is simply called “Lenticular Compositions”, tending to manipulate the forms and educate the viewer in the spirit of three dimensional art. His work is really remarkable, giving you the feeling that you are experiencing the world with 3D glasses on your eyes, only without…the glasses. Exploring the boundaries of perspective and giving a different value to it, Christopher Derek Bruno creates sophisticated bold art. Do you like the output?

Ask Engadget: What’s the best way to store my media collection?
We know you’ve got questions, and if you’re brave enough to ask the world for answers, then here’s the outlet to do so. This week’s Ask Engadget inquiry is from Michael, who is suffering from a storage crunch. If you’re looking to ask one of your own, drop us a line at ask [at] engadget [dawt] com.
“I’m a bargain-basement kinda guy, and I’ve picked up lots of DVDs cheaply during the sale season(s). I was planning to rip my collection with Handbrake so I could watch them on my iPad, but my 1TB HDD is already close to being maxed out! Is there a better solution out there than just buying a 2TB HDD now, waiting a year and buying a 3TB HDD when the prices come down? Is there a cheap RAID-style system that plays nicely with my iTunes? Please help!”
- You can pick up a standalone 3TB external HDD for between $150 and $200,
- Or you could take the leap and set up an iTunes home server, perhaps using the cheapest Synology DiskStation, which is $200 plus the cost of the drives. That way you can get a 4TB iTunes server for just under $400.
- You could also snag a Drobo that’ll give you the same storage options with significantly increased expandability, up to 16TB in the future.
That said, perhaps our friendly readers know a way to tame this man’s ever growing media collection, so if you’ve already set up your own system, why not share your knowledge in the comments below?

In Brief: Computer Arts Collection Volume 1 Part 4: Branding

Computer Arts, the UK-based magazine for digital artists and designers, has published what they call the Computer Arts Collection, comprised of six, new, 200-plus-page annual issues, each devoted to their core topics: graphic design, typography, illustration, branding, photography, and advertising. Editor Nick Carson was kind enough to send me a sample of the branding annual and it’s pretty fantastic. While it covers some of the same things we do on Brand New — like the EDP, More4, and DC Comics identities — the in-depth coverage and the fact that you can take it with you into the John, makes for a welcome read. The issue is thick with great content, including a 48-page feature story that chronicles the development of an identity project by London-based Studio Output. See more about the branding issue here and the overall collection here. A few images of the magazine below (or after the jump).

Sleek Wooden Bathroom Collection by Kashani

Kashani is an Israeli company founded by brothers Efi and Shlomi Kashani. The duo combine state of the art engineering capabilities with design skills and craftsmanship to create the most gorgeous bathroom furniture. The products are made in small numbers with a limited production and are therefore easily customizable by the end user. Each design starts life as a sketch on a piece of paper before being transformed into a digital prototype using 3D modelling software. After thorough testing, the products are manufactured from wood using CNC milling machines and finished by hand.

Kashani currently produce three different ranges designed by Naty Moskovich and Yonatan Assouline: Logged up; Wood & White; and Alpha. The Wood & White series is created using CNC technology to form the wood which is then given a beautiful contrast through the use of white powder paint. The stand alone Sandra bath is complemented by the Alex sink with its functional Corian shelf, which is also a feature of the Rif Raf stools.

The smooth lines and elegant curves of the stand alone Alpha bath make for a sculptural addition to the Alpha bathroom collection. The Feijoa sink is the perfect addition to the range and when joined by the Royal fig stool the overall effect of the collection is simply breathtaking.

Would you agree that these collections are stunning? Be sure to let us know what you think below in the comments sections.
