Lenovo LePhone S760 shows up with Android 2.3.5 and 3.7-inch AMOLED display
Alongside the LePhone S2 and the two-and-a-half tablets from earlier today, Lenovo also showed off a 3.7-inch Android 2.3.5 phone dubbed the S760. Packed within is a 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, a vibrant AMOLED display, five megapixel camera and Lenovo’s usual customised UI. Externally the phone looks very much like the S2, though the former’s shiny plastic backside gives out more of a toy-like feel. No prices just yet but expect this to hit the Chinese market at the end of December.

Motorola LTE handset emerges with qHD Super AMOLED display, questionable identity
Well, what do we have here? According to “trusted sources” over at This Is My Next it’s a Motorola Spyder, or a Droid RAZR, or maybe even the Droid HD we peeped back in August. Whatever the name, the phone is apparently packing a first-of-its-kind 4.3-inch, 960 x 540 qHD super AMOLED display. The rumored LTE handset also supposedly contains a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel, 1080p rear-facing camera and HD front-facing camera, and is apparently outfitted in Gorilla Glass and Kevlar. TIMN is also boasting exclusive new details for the recently outed Atrix 2. It seems the name is confirmed as well as a handful of previously identified specs. What’s more, the phone’s got a couple of accessories on board, including a laptop dock called the Lapdock 100, also rumored to play nice with the Spyder, or RAZR, or HD. We already knew about Samsung’s grand plans for expanding its display production in 2011, but now we also have a number to give us a sense of scale: 30 million. That’s how many screens the new Mobile Display fab (set to go live in July) will be able to churn out in a month, a vastly superior rate than the current 3 million maximum. Lee Woo-Jong, the display business’ marketing VP, tells us its estimates for AMOLED market demand have been revised upwards to 700 million units in 2015, with the new facility obviously being the key cog in making that growth happen. Intriguingly, he also notes that Super AMOLED — one of the big attractions of the Galaxy S line of Samsung phones — is not exclusive to Samsung’s electronics arm, everyone can apparently use it. That directly contradicts what we heard from Sammy’s mobile reps, but then this is hardly the first time that one part of Samsung doesn’t know what the other is doing. Still, it’s nice to at least dream of a S-AMOLED HTC HD7, no?
